THE TEHYA ROSE HAIR BRUNETTE COLOR GUIDE.
Your color doesn’t stop being customized when you leave my chair. The way you care for your hair at home plays a huge role in how beautifully your brunette fades, how long your tone lasts, and the overall health and shine of your hair.

The first 48 hours.
Give your color a little time to settle.
WAIT TO WASH
If possible, wait 24-48 hours before your first shampoo. This allows the cuticle to fully settle and close, maintaining color longevity.
TURN DOWN THE TEMP
Wash with lukewarm water rather than hot water. Hot water can encourage your color to fade faster.
SKIP THE DEEP CLEAN
Avoid clarifying or detox shampoos immediately after your appointment, unless I specifically recommend one.
Your wash day routine.
01—SHAMPOO
Focus shampoo primarily on your scalp. You usually don’t need to scrub shampoo through your mids and ends.
Rinse, then repeat this step for a double cleanse.
02—CONDITION
Apply conditioner through the mids and ends, and allow to sit for a few minutes before thoroughly rinsing. Conditioner never should go on your scalp.
03—TREAT
Incorporate a hydrating or strengthening mask when your hair needs a little extra love.
04—PROTECT
Always apply a heat protectant before blow-drying and using hot tools.
05—STYLE
I recommend blow drying for the longest lasting style, and to minimize how fast the scalp produces oil.
HOW OFTEN SHOULD I WASH?
There isn’t one perfect number for everyone, but generally, fewer washes = less opportunity for your color to fade. If your currently washing daily, slowly working toward every 2-3 days can make a noticeable difference.
My brunette non-negotiables.
If you only remember a few things from this guide, make them these:
When your color starts feeling “off.”
Before you decide you suddenly hate your hair…
If your hair feels:
Too warm—you may need a gloss refresh.
Dull—you may have mineral/product build up.
Dry—you may need moisture or a change in your home routine.
Flat—your dimensional pieces may need to be brightened up.
Too light—your gloss may have faded and exposed warmth + brightness underneath.
Not sure? Send me a photo. I'd much rather help you figure out what your hair needs than have you guess.
Good hair doesn’t end at the salon
You invested in your color—I want you to love it for much longer than the first few weeks.
A thoughtful home routine, a few good products and the right maintenance schedule can make all the difference.
And remember.. you never have to figure your hair out alone. That's what I'm here for. 🤎
